For my favorite night out with the love of my life I have to say Rothman's has the best bar, atmosphere, food and service. I have never had a bad night out there. All around - a winner. Smile

I would add Geoffrey's in Malibu. More for the view and the setting than anything else. Ivan Kane's Wa s is a good place too. For me, it's the best!
Cheers

One of your "correspondents" wrote about The Magic Castle in Hollywood.
It's a great evening of magic and mystery - I go there often - but the food is a bad joke far and wide and everyone (except your "correspondent" I guess) knows it.

Thanks for your sultry reply, MissW22. Wink We think that the setting at Jaan is quite romantic as well. Has anyone else been there, or have another favorite spot for romance?

Nothing says romance more to me than a hotel restaurant. They are usually intimate, quiet, no scene and civilized...and there's always the underlying excitement of being in a hotel with someone you love. My favorite in LA - Jaan at L'Ermitage. Feels like a private club.

My favorites include (but are not limited to) The Little Door - LA, Yamashiro - Hollywood, Blair's - Silverlake, and Tantra - Silverlake. Of them all, I think I like the food at Blair's the best. If nothing else, all of these places have GREAT ambiance!

I see that Ortolan is on the list, and it definitely belongs there. It's my favorite place to go to for a romantic dinner. Everything from the white banquet booths to the crystal chandeliers lends itself to creating a dreamy, romantic mood. I think it's owned by the actress Jeri Ryan?

I personally like Tengu in Santa Monica. It's where I take most of my dates to, because the atmosphere is a good balance of trendy and cozy. I usually request a table in the covered patio area.
